Readiness for Big School
Helping Children Transition with Confidence
Starting school is a big step, and at Caring Hands Nursery we do everything we can to make sure children — and parents — feel prepared.
Our goal is to help children be as independent and confident as possible when entering Reception.
politeness and instil manners into the children
resilience and for the children to problem solve
respect and for the children to listen to each other’s opinions and views
working collaboratively and independently
At Caring Hands Nursery, we value strong partnerships with parents and believe communication is key to every child’s success. Throughout the year, we hold regular Parent Meetings where families can discuss their child’s progress, share feedback, and talk about any support needed for their development.
Our experienced teachers (Key Persons) work closely with children to help them grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. We encourage learning through play, exploration, and creativity — focusing on social, emotional, and early academic skills. This helps children feel secure, happy, and well-prepared as they move on to their next stage of learning.
We also maintain open communication with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for children when they are ready for Reception. Caring Hands provides parents with detailed learning reports and developmental updates, supporting both home and future school readiness.
At Caring Hands, our goal is to nurture every child’s potential in a caring, respectful, and stimulating environment — helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
